Minion Twinkie Valentine

I love Hostess Twinkies!! LOVE THEM! So what better way to show my love than to give a snack that I love! These Minion Twinkies are so easy to make, just draw on your Minion and attach your Valentine. We made homemade Valentine's Day cards but you could just as easily attach store bought valentines to make this valentine even easier!

You will need:

A blue marker
A black marker
A silver marker (you can substitute black if needed)

Draw the eyeball or eyeballs with the silver marker (or black).
Add the hair, eye and smile with the black marker.
Finish off your minion with some blue overalls.

For the Valentine:

We had some extra craft paper that we used, you'll also need scissors, pen, and a heart stencil (we used a cookie cutter.
Trace and cut out the heart shape and add you valentine slogan... we love the "You're one in a minion" saying.

Mini Salad Appetizers

Mini Salad Appetizers are perfect for large or small get togethers. Prep them in advance and all your guests need to do is grab their hand held mini salad! They are great for parties as a quick easy and healthy snack or appetizer and they taste absolutely delicious, maybe because they are are just the right amount of salad.

All you need to make the salad appetizers is romaine lettuce and a salad dressing of your choice, we did Ranch on ours.

Romaine Lettuce
Salad Dressing
(One head of lettuce made a dozen of these mini salads)

Feel free to customize with diced tomatoes, cheese, hard boiled eggs, or croutons.

Start by pulling a part all the lettuce leaves, put the smaller leaves to the side to use as the plate for the salad. Chop the remaining lettuce into small pieces (think shredded lettuce).
Mix the shredded lettuce with the dressing and add small piles of the dressed shredded lettuce onto the larger leaf. When you're done you'll have mini salads you can pick up and eat in about 3 to 4 bites.

Valentine's Day Minion Bananas

I did a post last year for back to school where we made Minion Bananas. This Valentine's Day we will be making these guys again, they're the perfect inexpensive, healthy Valentine. With schools restricting what you can bring in for class parties and snacks these bananas are a great option!!

These Minion Banana Valentine's are super easy to make! You just need: Bananas, a black marker, blue marker, silver marker, red or pink paper, scissors, a heart cookie cutter.

1. Use the heart cookie cutter to trace as many hearts as needed, then cut them out and write your valentine a greeting.

2. Draw goggles on your minion with the silver marker (you can easily use black if you don't have a silver marker), add eyes, hair and a smile with the black marker, draw on a pair of overalls and your minion is ready to go. (See the photo below for step by step directions!)

3. Tape the valentine hearts to your bananas and you are ready to go!

We hope you have a happy healthy Valentine's Day!!!

Homemade Onion Dip

One of my husbands favorite snacks is chips and dip and when I was at the grocery store I forgot the onion dip mix and only realized it when I was too deep in a very long line. So I went home and made my own and chances are you can make it at home with what you have at home.

This recipe is for a 16 oz sour cream container.

2 Beef Bullion Cubes
2-3 Tablespoons Dry Minced Onion
2 Teaspoons Onion Powder
1/4 Teaspoon Ground Pepper
1/2 Teaspoon Sugar
1/2 Teaspoon Parsley

Don't forget your sour cream and chips!!

Smash the bullion cubes so they are more of a powder add all of the ingredients together, mix your onion dip mix into the sour cream and enjoy!
