Must Haves at Legoland with Kids under 5

*Sponsored Post: Though I was not paid to write this post I was given free tickets to Legoland, CA. All thoughts, opinions, and love of all things Lego ;) are my own.*

Today is the day we are headed to Legoland, CA for some fun adventures and Brick or Treat, my kids are SO excited!!! This also means I spent much of yesterday thinking of everything that needed to come with us to Legoland so we could make it from park open to park close and through Brick or Treat. I have three kids; age 1, age, 3 and age 4 (5 next month) so these are my must haves when we got to Legoland with three kids under 5!

1. Stroller!
We rock the City Select by Baby Jogger bought 2nd hand it is my favorite baby purchase plus we have the kick-board attachment so you will often see use with the younger two in the two seats and our oldest taking a break from walking by standing on the glider (kick-board). Plus this thing has great under storage so you don't have to carry everything.

2. Spare clothes.
Accidents happen. But also there are a lot of different activities that can get you wet and my oldest (5) does not enjoy being wet when he's done playing.

3. Snacks!
Legoland has some DELICIOUS food but it's also nice to have some quick snacks for when your twenty minutes into a line and your child suddenly realizes they are STAAARRVING!

4. Small waiting games.
We bring a small bag (gallon size) of little toys and activities to keep the kiddos occupied when we are in a line without a fun play area. We've brought small Lego, slime, dice (my 5 year old thinks it's fun to count the numbers- but you could also use it to have them do something as many times as what is on the die), finger puppets were also a big hit on our last trip and we were able to pick them up at party city for less than .50 cents a puppet.

5. A game plan that's easy to complete.
Most people who plan to go to Legoland want to check out the rides and attractions they want to do. I recommend making a game plan that's easy to complete (and add to). We start our day by having our kids pick one thing they really want to do whether it's a ride, a show, or building in the build and test room. It gives you a goal that's achievable, it lets your kids do their favorite thing, and hopefully you'll not only complete it but be able to add even more fun activities to your trip!

Intentional Birthday Gifts for a One Year Old Girl

Birthday season is upon my house (I have three kids whose birthdays are in September, October, and November) and we always have a couple people who ask "what should I get?" My answer used to be, "eh, whatever you think they'd want." I didn't want to be pushy about gifts but now when I get asked I have a small list of intentional toys, things that I'd like to have in my house and that will loved, cherished, and used for multiple years. Here is my list of intentional birthday gifts for a one year old girl:

Lego Duplo Blocks.

My boys love these but we don't have any pink in our current set which is not a big deal but I think some pink will be fun and the boys can build with pink blocks, too. Check out the current Lego Duplo sets here.

Name Puzzle.

These are SO neat and as she gets a little bit older it will help her to recognize her name as well as learn how to spell her name! I found these ones here.

I feel like every girl deserves a doll, I personally love the ones from the Disney Store.
The plush one is here and you can find the vinyl one here.

We are always looking to expand our library!

Are there any must have intentional toys for young girls that I missed? Let me know in the comments!

Legoland with a 2 Year Old

*Sponsored Post: Though I was not paid to write this post I was given free tickets to Legoland, CA. All thoughts, opinions, and love of all things Lego ;) are my own.*

Legoland is SO much fun and we love that they have rides and activities perfect for our daring two year old! Oddly enough my younger boy is much more adventurous than my older son who is 4. These are my 2 year old's favorite rides!

1. Hideaways (Play Area)!

My two year old can spend his entire day in this play area, it's big and enclosed so kids can't escape the area if there is a parent at the entrance to the play area. My four year old is allowed to go up by himself as long as he comes down to check in, my two year old has to have mom or dad accompany him but he finds it hilarious when we slide down all the different slides. It wore me out before it wore him out!!

2. Cargo Ace!

There was a day we came to Legoland and it was a little drizzly and my 2 year old went on this at least 5 times! This ride has riders sit in little planes (my guy required an adult due to height restrictions) and it just goes around in exciting (to my two year old) circles.

3. Beetle Bounce!

This is another ride my son wanted to go on over and over again and he did. My older ( 4 year old) does not like this ride and so his dad takes him over to Pharaoh's Revenge.

4. Skipper School!

This is probably the VERY best ride... I mean what kid doesn't want to steer his own boat through the water and that's exactly what you get the chance to do on this ride!

5. Fairytale Brook!

This is definitely one for the family! My two year old loves all the different fairy tale creatures and peoples plus its a good chance for everyone to get off their feet as the float past all the fun fairytale story book characters.

6. Lego 4D Movie

A chance to sit and relax in an air conditioned room matched with a cute short that both my boys love is a big win in my book! We take time to watch it every visit to Legoland!

If you're headed to Legoland California soon be sure to download their app, it has a handy map as well as wait times and height requirements (and more)!

Batman Movie Days at Legoland

*Sponsored Post: Though I was not paid to write this post I was given free tickets to Legoland, CA. All thoughts, opinions, and love of all things Lego ;) are my own.*

Last weekend and this weekend is Batman Movie Days at Legoland! There are lots of fun Batman themed activities to do around the park. We went last weekend and had so much fun, we thought the rain would be bad and it wasn't but the park felt almost empty (no waiting in lines!). Legoland also hands out a handy list of rides that remain open in light rain.

Head to Legoland Batman Movies Days and You Can:

Help Build a Batman Mosaic:

With this build you receive a color coded plate - you put the Lego bricks on the corresponding colors and bring it up to the front and they add it to the mosaic - so neat!!

Help Build a life-size Batman or Robin

This was fun and you can make as many bricks as you want - we made about 15 but the family next to us made at least 50! When we left he wasn't done yet, but it was really cool to see how they build their life size figures!

Build and Test your own Batmobile

My kids, and my husband love to build and race at the build and test and this time they had more black bricks plus bat wings you could add to your very own Batmobiles!!

Search for Batman Villains in Miniland

You can pick up clues at the front of the park. Find each villain and write down their letter to reveal a word. At the end of the day you can drop off your answer to win a BAT-tastic Lego prize!!

We hope you make it out for Lego Batman days this weekend we had so much fun with our kids!!

Woodland ONE-derland 1st Birthday Party

I was so excited to help set up and take photos for this fun Woodland One-derland birthday party! And here are some ideas so you can throw your own!

Fun food was a must!

A sweet fox smash cake for the birthday boy! Everything but the ears are edible (ears are frosted pieces of cardboard).

There were a variety of cupcakes available to guests, the chocolate posted above as well as lemon and banana.

This delicious hedgehog was made from a cheeseball and almonds with olives for his nose and eyes.

These ladybugs were made using Rtiz crackers, cream cheese, tomato, and olive - they were a huge hit with the adults!

This raccoon was made with mushrooms, olives, cauliflower, pretzels, and ranch dip.

Also available to eat were wings, and mixed fruits - if your park has a BBQ you could easily have a hot dog and hamburger cookout or order some pizza!

Decor for this fun themed party included fun animal balloons, orange and blue tablecloths with succulents.

A chalkboard sign to welcome guests. This sign also made a great sign to use in photos to mark the occasion.

A fun homemade banner and colorful balloons marked the area.

These were my favorite balloons!

Succulents in mason jars with burlap add to the wilderness feel.

Gift bags for guest had trail mix to "fuel their adventures."

The letters "O", "N", and "E" were great to have for photos!

This Woodland ONE-derland birthday party was so cute and clever and such a big hit with the friends and family that were able to join us in celebrating!
